Drop Off Playgroup

What is a Drop Off Playgroup?

While it’s only recently becoming more popular, a drop off playgroup is something that is incredibly useful for parents with children they don’t feel comfortable enrolling in full time daycare, but still need something to give them time to themselves. Drop off playgroups are, as their name suggests, a safe place with a couple teacher’s or sitters where kids can play together and be cared for on an hourly basis.

Many of these drop off playgroups are at preschools or daycare locations that have a separate area that operates as the drop off playgroup. However, the policies for each of these places is different and should be investigated before signing a child up. Also, it can be done informally with fellow parents and a couple sitters you trust at someone’s house as well, assuming you all feel comfortable with that arrangement.
